Iron Range off road weekend, June 8th-10th 2012.

The plan for the weekend was set last winter,  and I still waited until the last week, and day,  to prep up the GMC and dune buggy for the trip.  I had to get a tranny leak fixed on the Buggy, adjusted the brakes back up.  and fixed a brake line that had been rigged a few trips back.  borrowing a trailer so I can haul both the buggy and the 4 wheeler required wiring up a brake controller on the GMC.  

Finally heading out Friday morning.

Campground was nice.  Here is me all setup before the rest arrived.  we made the camp host mad with the amount of people we put on each of the three sites, but we had called ahead and told them how many people we had.  I think there might have been 15 people.

Jeff said before we headed out, it was his trip to cause problems.  He did not let us down.  His Choke was closing, and lack of power got him in trouble on a trail.  ended up taking a couple 4 wheelers to winch him back on the trail.  all I did was pull him off the trail more.  we did not figure out the choke problem until day 2.

rock broke his valve stem off.  a stick kept enough air in it to get out of the park.  but put Bill's spare on before driving to camp.  was able to get a new valve stem on before 9 am on day 2.

Our buggies usually go anywhere anybody else goes.  However when you do not plan your line properly.  you end up in trouble.  it does not show in this picture well.  but all 4 wheels are off the ground slightly, high centered on a rock.  was able to push it off the rock and get going again.

as I said before, it was Jeff's turn to cause trouble.   We decided to get a last run in on sunday morning because our buggies were not out of commission yet.  He decides to test out the roll cage.

a little muscle.  and it is back up right.  nothing broke.

Notice my tires.  clipped a tree and bent up the tie rod pretty good.  We were able again to use some muscle and one of god's hammers, to straighten it out.
