Prop Rods for propane and generator doors

I have to give all credit for this to Jeff Wolf.  When visiting him, he showed me this cheap and easy way to make some prop rods out of hot dog roasters. took me about an hour, and total cost for roasters, pop rivets, and aluminum angle was about $15.

For support, I pop riveted some 1/2 x 1/2 aluminum angle. 

2 Roaster forks bought at fleet farm for less then $4 each.

Notice the rubber cover that came to protect the sharp end.

I cut the roaster fork, measured the length I needed,  and bent 90 on the ends

Drilled out the angle,  and the roaster fork rubber deal holds the prop rod in place

I drilled a hole into the side for the rod to rest in,  and the prop rod works great.

Carlos State Park first real camping for 2014

Weather was cold,  and there was lots of snow and rain all spring.   our first Camping trip of the year ended up on Mother's day weekend with some friends about an hour away.   The weather ended up being somewhat on the chilly side with the wind off the lake, and the GMC provided some nice shelter.  Learned a couple things this trip....  Keep an eye on water use, and black tank level.  and that i need to figure out my electrical problem causing GFI outlets to pop.   This park only had GFI outlets to plug into.

16" steel rims for the rear of the coach.

Well,  summer has been busy once it finally came.

Did a few upgrades to the GMC this year,  the big one being the toilet/black tank.   I also had picked up some 16" steel wheels off an old chevy,  and put 4 new transforces on the rear of the coach.  After having a tread separation on my old tires last fall, I figured I better take care of that problem.
